There was ice about this morning. When I got to the river I found the path flooded despite high tide having been over an hour earlier, so retraced my path to Borough Park. Generally the paths were OK but in some places there was lethal black ice so care was needed. Everyone was being very sociable, warning each other of icy patches. When I got to Steamer Quay the line of frost and ice showed how high the tide had been.
I had noticed Peter, a fellow Albert Inn regular, when we were both on Vire Island but not to speak to (he was picking up his dog's poop). When I reached Steamer Quay he had just got to the end of the island.
