Thank you StevenT for the "What is it?" this week.

Three different angles on this 18½ inch, 47 cm object: what is it made to do?

I like the answers so far ~ and have nothing to add ~ except, it looks as though it's 'part' of something, there's no handle with which to use it, so I'm assuming that it fits into or onto to something, and something else is then place between the two hook things ~ so, no idea at all...........

Talking about food ~ I was wondering if this thing was made to hold pots over an open camp fire ~ sort of cowboy on the range? [no pun intended!]

Not barrels, but is is for lifting a sort of "top".

Not roasting or marshmallows, but cooking is indirectly involved.

Not an OPEN fire, and not holding the pots, but used on the things which DO hold the pots. And your inadvertent pun is very apt.

That's it: a hot plate lifter for a cooking stove.
