All I can see is there is an Amp 1 and an Amp 2 with a light in the middle. Cannot see what the other stero plugs say so am kinda liking LMP's answer.

For which now I have no dought that it is cause after all it came from LMP.

Only thing a Yorkshire man and i have in common is that we are both tight fisted.

I have to say that I don't have a clue about this ~ the only thing that strikes me is the size! ~ it's just a little longer than my little finger ~ so I would need my glasses to see the damn dials if I had to use it ~ that's very small for an electrical piece of equipment when you are playing around with the pointy end!
Doctors use this instrument to mesure the amount of ear wax you have.
Despite being the wrong species, wrong orifice and wrong function, this is the closest answer so far. It isn't used to measure something but to ascertain something.

The instrument is small because the creatures it is used on are fairly small... and very young.
