BRICS & PIIGS - Amazing or Amusing Acronyms of Alliances

The Specialist Workforce Advisory Group certainly goes by a very dodgy sounding acronym.. SWAG

Another oddly named body is ‘B.R.A.T’, by which the Behaviour Research And Therapy group is referred to.
How about the evil sounding ‘C.A.D.S’, which is the Clinical Administration Data Service.

Whatever you do though, stay well clear of ‘W.H.A.M’ which stands for Women’s Health And Mobilisation
Neither mess with the deceptively sound S.O.F.T lads from the Society Of Forensic Toxicologists.

To my mind, the epitome of acronyms is the word snafu...(bless our military)

S.N.A.F.U. = Situation Normal, All Fucked Up
(Although this one is a bit backwards...the actual saying is "naughty" while the acronym has become very acceptable.)

F.U.B.A.R: Fuck-up beyond any recognition.

T.A.R.F.U: Things are really fucked-up.
