5 years ago on Hemerdon Bank to the west of, and heading towards, Totnes.

This class of locomotive was the regular motive power here in steam days but usually with two locos, so she did well on her own. The peak of the incline is at the bridge on which the camera man stands and you can hear her speed up after hitting the flat.
This is what I remember when young and getting to sleep I knew if the train was running all is well with the world. That is what my older bother told me when I was 7 years old.

With the pandemic the number of main line steam excursions have been drastically reduced. As far as I can tell there are only two scheduled through Totnes this year and the first will be on Wednesday. Current plan is for it to be double headed by 70000 Britannia and 46100 Royal Scot. I'll try and get out to film it, just hope the weather cooperates.
