The Cottonwood trees were horrible here this year

This was just as the sun was starting to warm the morning skies
we have as many cottonwood trees here as we do black walnut trees

And yes, that is the stump from the tree that fell on the house last winter

they're not very good, he's very skittish and I have to shoot from inside the house ... but I'll keep working on it lol

I've got quite the bird parade going on in my backyard these days
a pair of cardinals, bluejay, woodpecker, doves, swallows, robins, just to name a few
managed to catch that cardinal on the swing, he sure stands out!

and there was a newcomer this morning, I think he's a parakeet, he let me get close! lol :bravo:

I manage to get just a little closer to that woodpecker every day, still want to capture that bluejay too, but the slightest noise and he's gone lol :sad:

I have one of them woodpeckers here too... I can always hear it before I see it. It's a very distinct noise.
I also have a pair of smaller Downy woodpeckers that stop by the feeder... very people friendly.
