I guess as long as we have a bird topic going on....

Early this spring on one of my walks, I spotted, or thought I spotted a rather large bird in a rather large nest. I guess, I
just thought it was a heron. They are not uncommon along the river trail I walk.

The second time I spotted it, I knew it was no heron, and I didn't have my camera. I also didn't tell anyone about to try and protect it as much as possible. So many people along that trail are oblivious to what goes on around them.

Anyway...

I have been back several times, and I have not seen them again....AND, the cat is out of the bag now...
soooooooo... here is what I saw. It's kind of a big deal, because there have been none here for a very long time.

**** not my photos below****

I'm not sure they are gone.... I just have not seen them again, foliage on the trees and what not.
Then again with the idiots posting the hey look sign..... :noidea:

Interesting stuff Pat. I too am astounded at the inability of people to see the wonders around them. Often when I stop to observe something on or beside the river people passing give me a puzzled look as if to say "Why aren't you still moving? There can't be anything worth seeing here."

Pei Wei is a cutie!

The cat at work ( my little buddy ) is black and white.

A couple weeks ago I discovered a wound on his neck, along with a ( lack of better description ) welt
about as long as a pinky finger and about as thick...it was full of infection...and smelled terrible!
He let me push/squeeze a good portion of it out. puss green and smelled like rotting carcass.
Cleaned it best I could, and he would tollerate, and took him to the vet the following morning.
Got his neck shaved and a good shot of antibiotic, and he is feeling much better.

I don't remember where this home was, but they had the roof taken off, and had a mess to clean inside

Something else you have in common with Pat there then, Char; he loves lightning too.

this is my lil' buddy, he's the only one that doesn't fly off when I open the back door
I have no idea what kind of bird he is, only that he's tiny, fast and usually quite talkative lol

one of the most amazing things to me is their ability to adapt
when the bluejays can't find anymore peanuts on the ground, one of them will fly into the bird feeder to knock more to the ground!
