Sooo .. we had a ice storm going on all day and night yesterday, and when I got home last night,
I cleaned the drive entrance and some of the side walk. I had to stop, that crap was heavy, and I thought
I was going to have a heart attack. I really got to quit smoking. About 2am this morning the snow plow came up the road and put all the crap in the entrance that I had cleaned out.! Bastards! I went out about 4am and cleaned that back out. I can work on the rest today... I am not going any where. However... my upstairs neighbors
( half my age mind you ) tried to go out this morning. LMAO

got the car stuck right up next to the neighbors house. The car is front wheel drive, and the tires must not have good tread. I had to go help get them out. ( I really got to quit smoking ) I shoveled and salted and pushed
and thought I was going to have another heart attack! Got them back into their parking space... and then they left with someone else. Leaving me to do it on my own..... I guess

And here is how much more ice and sleet we got after I got home last night

If I quit smoking, (I did) anybody can. I don't know how old you are. But believe me, it's the best thing you can do for yourself.
Pretty sure this is a red bellied woodpecker, they are larger and quite common in Michigan. We have them all summer long at our suet feeders.
best as I can tell, they're the same thing

Look the same but the red bellies are bigger than that.

Here are a couple of our pileated woodpeckers that frequent our yard in the summer.

Here is a pic of three pileated woodpeckers that all showed up at once. They usually always show up in pairs, this was a rare occurrence.

Not sure if I got all three in this shot tho'

Nope, the other one was higher up.

Thanks Bamber... No travel plans for today, and I am only doing shoveling a wee bit at a time.

I always think I miss snow until I have to go deal with it. I have family in Ohio and went back a few years ago. Huge pile up of snow and I ended up shoveling the driveway for my mom so we could get the car out. I thought I would not miss doing this before I had to go to work or go anywhere.

the sunflowers are growing like crazy, they form an almost horseshoe shape around the feeding area, they're going to be really beautiful when they bloom
I just need to make sure that the mowers don't cut them down, I'm thinking a sign, or maybe the garden fencing hubby has out back
I only need enough to get the message across in the event I'm not here the first time they mow this season
and please, a round of applause for our lovely model ... Pei Wei lol
