This thread I am gonna start is all about people, why they picked their name, what it means to them, and why they stick with it.

The only reason I wanted to bring this up, is because when I talked to AoW about my name Berginyon Lagoona, she asked me why I didn't change it to a mutual last name for us, when we "Married." I had one answer for her... But I didn't give it entirely how I meant to.

I picked Berginyon Lagoona for two reasons...

Origionally It was just Berginyon, I needed a name for an online text based game that I was becoming an immortal for.. I wanted a cool name... and I couldn't think of one... So I asked my more learned brother... (He has just read more fantacy novels than I have, and I took my problem to him.)

At the time, the game didn't have last names, though you could "Technically" have one. He gave me Berginyon, which was spelled Bergin'yon or something like that, but the game didn't allow " ' " so, I had to improvise... And Berginyon was born.

About a couple of months into being an Imm, (Short for Immortal,) the game had lost its popularity, and there wasn't much of anyone there, at all. I was just working on my area, filling out its details, when I randomly checked "Who," which allows you to see everyone who is online. And I saw someone relatively low level, called Tigeris. I bamf'd over to her location, (Bamf means something, but I have no idea what... Basically it is some kind of teleportation) And I started talking to "Her." (Which turned out to be a her in Real life anyway)

She needed help, she had somehow misplaced something, I helped her, and we got to chatting... After about 3 hours, We were on the phone, talking about the game, and life, and whatnot... She told me that she was aggrivated that she didn't have a last name... About 2 weeks before this, Calador (Highest Imm) had implimented last names. I still didn't have one... I asked her what she wanted, 5 min later, she had one. After about 2 weeks, we got married in game, and I adopted her mortal last name. (As an immortal I didn't have one)

Lagoona.

I had fallen in love with her, and she with me, in some ways. We were not "together" because she was in New York, and we knew that with her being 18, and me 17, it would not work. But, we kept talking on the phone. We talked like we were together, I called her in class, she called me. She was really the first place I had ever placed my heart into something I could hear, and relate to. We had an enormous amount in common. (Kinda like AoW and myself.. But... to a much lesser degree)

I kept the name Lagoona, because it was branded to Berginyon, like a hot skewer.

To this day, I have never, and will never have any regrets about that entire episode, and I will never regret being, and carrying Lagoona, as a name.

It took me a very long time to come up with the name AngelOfWater because I use to use sunset141 when I first started chatting and I like sunsets and since sunset was already taken or whatever I'd use 141 for me which I'm not sure where I came up with the number from it just came to me when I made the name. As for AngelOfWater, my boyfriend AJ when we were originally together (we are together again) he called me his angel and he was the first to ever call me that and it made me feel really special and so the word Angel just got stuck with me.

I also adore dolphins and the color blue and WATER! Which is why I now want to be a marine mammal trainer which consists of dolphins and water :). So yeah I tried the name at a new chat place or something I tried WaterAngel, I tried Dolphin this or dolphin that but nothing was really unique and so I thought of AngelOfWater and nobody had it anywhere so it was very unique and very special to me and so to this day that is the name I use for most places. As well as the number 22 is very special to me as well for more then one reason.

So Bergy I have a question for ya, I technically never was your first girlfriend... right?

Ahem... Hi you two. Long time no see Kenya. I hope life's treating you well.

Interesting thread Bergy... This is a topic that's actually been weighing on me for a while. My husband named me M_wife_D when he first put me online so he didn't have to pay me any attention. MD is Fucknut and the underscores are supposed to be a sign of possession. I left him in February and I've been wanting to get a new online i.d. but for more than four years now everyone's known me as wife. I'm no longer a wife though and it bothers me but I've not come up with anything better so far.

What a better place, than here, to ask for suggestions?

Of course, with this thread's track record so far, you might just get Kenya and my own opinions...

No prob... I'm open to suggestions and I always enjoy both your opinions. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back over here. I started a third job. Real life, as usual, is a bitch!

This is an interesting definition of "Wife." A woman, Esp. an old or uneducated one.

Of course, I do not imply that you are "Old" or "Uneducated" I am simply saying, that with that definition, you can keep "Wife," and not be a "Wife." Simply use the definition I just found, and use it for Woman.

Meh... It's all good... Personally... I don't know wife, and wouldn't be qualified to give her suggestions for a nickname.

I am old Bergy (35) but I'm fairly well educated... "wife" kinda needs to go if for no other reason than because it's what my husband named me. I was always more a mother than a wife really; even to Fucknut. ...And what do you mean you don't know me? You've known me for three years or more. You know me as well as anyone, lol. Probably better than most.

Thanks Aluli. I actually put "the ex" by my avatar over at Toontown for a while. Someone told me it made me seem like I was looking too hard.

Yes, Wife, I do know you well... (As well as someone can know someone, from just talking online.) But I was refering to in person. We have never spoken, we have never discussed the world, and I don't know how you are, as a person... Just as... well... Wife. I guess... the easiest wat to put it is.. I simply do not know how to give an opinion about you for a nickname... I don't know you "That" well. (Would like to... But.. That is another story...)

--Bergy.

P.S. Other than the fact that Dane Cook killed my likeing of the name, I always liked (Until then...) the name Karen... I dunno why, but I think I always thought of you as a Karen. Kirsten is another good K name...

P.P.S. I guess, if I were to give an honest opinion about you for a name... over the last three years, you have always been one solid thing for me, and everyone I had seen you interact with. And that would be a caring, sharing, huggs-when-ya-need-em, stern-when-ya-need-it, kinda person... AKA, Mom... (Mother2All? MOM = most obsessively motherly? (Possibly some other acronym...) or something to that effect?) I mean, you have been a better friend (At least, as far as I have seen) to people you talk to, and give quite... Motherly advice to people, who need it. (Geezas... Long post post script...) And you have never, (At least, as far as I have seen) turned anyone down who asked for help.

Oh man! You kids are making me feel old... I'm at least six months too young to be a mother to either of you, lol.

Thanks for the kind words Bergy and for the suggestions Kenya. I'm flattered the way you say you think of me as a Karen. My name is Andi though. I thought you knew... I have to laugh at all the Mom references. I took my sixteen year old co worker off caffeine recently and my daughter said, "Mom, the whole world is not your children." I took my co worker off caffeine at Pizza Hut and then she tried to buy an energy drink from me at Allsup's which is my other job. Was she ever hot when I refused to sell it to her while I was the only clerk. She calls me "Smother" sometimes. I really always was more of a mother than a wife.

I was only kidding Anna. I'm about to be thirty six. I'm plenty old enough to be both their mothers. I just don't like to admit it, lol. My husband was ten years younger than me and ten years older than my oldest daughter. He's a redhead and he looks like he's only fourteen or so. I was always waiting for someone to think I was his mother. I'm getting very vain in my old age.
