I spotted this new boat moored beside Totnes Bridge on my way home last night and thought I'd take a photo of it this morning. I didn't notice the name at the time.

The name immediately took me back to being a six or seven year old in my home town of Atherstone. One of the local hat factories was Vero & Everett, families which were naturally quite prominent in the town. I don't believe I ever met him, but the closeness of it to the word perseverance has helped Percy Vero's name stick in my memory.

My walk to work this morning coincided with high water, but at 3.3 metres Riverside Walk was just about passable without getting my feet wet, even if I did have to take an avoiding route on a couple of occasions. Not a cloud in the sky and not too hot, so a most pleasant walk again.
