An hour before I left for work the forecast was giving an 85% chance of heavy rain for that time. Fortunately the rain came early and had passed by the time I left home, leaving everything shining wetly in the sun.
I stayed home yesterday with a streaming cold and nasty headache. Felt quite a bit better this morning, despite the nose still dripping like a leaky faucet, so took the shortest route to work, with a brief detour on to Vire Island hoping for some photographic inspiration. Not a lot to grab the attention, really.
What a difference! After a couple more very wet mornings it wasn't looking promising at 7 AM as it was raining again. I was in no rush, and left home about an hour later than usual, by which time the clouds had mostly cleared away.
It's fortunate that I know Moat Hill, otherwise I may have become distracted and wandered up there "just to see what's round the next corner": that's how a 30 minute walk can end up taking several hours.
